[UPDATED 10.30.18] I'm receiving an issue with my Nexon Launcher. What do I do?

[UPDATE 10.30.18] A maintenance to the Nexon Launcher has applied a solution to fix the following issue:

  • An issue in which you are stuck in an 'infinite' loading loop when launching or trying to update the Nexon Launcher. 

Please open your Nexon Launcher to apply the update. You may want to restart your computer and run the program as Administrator in order to apply the update successfully.

If you continue to experience these issues or any others with the Nexon Launcher, please follow up with us in a ticket detailing the issue.


[UPDATE 10.23.18] The below information regarding the Nexon Launcher's 'TCP Ports' has been modified. Please review Process 3 below, and please make sure that another program is not running on one of the 5 TCP Ports that the Nexon Launcher uses in order to run the program.

Furthermore, edits have been made to Process 1 to include a reminder to close all Nexon Launcher processes in order to fully troubleshoot the issue.  If you are still experiencing the JavaScript issue when opening the Nexon Launcher, please review Process 1 again as these steps should resolve the issue fully.

[UPDATE 10.22.18] Our team is still thoroughly investigating the below issues. If you haven't already, please try performing a full, clean re-installation of the Nexon Launcher (steps below) to see if this will resolve the issue. 

The issue where a JavaScript Error message appearing has been fixed.

There are a few current known issues for the Nexon Launcher:

  • An issue in which you are stuck in an 'infinite' loading loop when launching or trying to update the Nexon Launcher. 
  • An issue where the Nexon Launcher will auto-close after attempting to load. 
  • [RESOLVED 10.22.18] An issue where a JavaScript Error Appears.

Process (1): In order to troubleshoot these issues, please do the following:

  1. Close any open Nexon game client(s), including the Nexon Launcher. To be sure all clients are closed, locate any programs using your computer's Task Manager. (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and End the Task.Taskmgr_2018-10-23_14-48-14.png
  2. Re-open the Nexon Launcher and an update should automatically start downloading.
  3. If you're still experiencing the issue, perform a full restart for your computer, then repeat step 2.
  4. If you're still experiencing the issue, repeat step 2 but run the Nexon Launcher as "Administrator".
  5. If you're still experiencing the issue, please review process 2 and process 3 below.


Process (2): If the infinite loading issue persists, please uninstall the Nexon Launcher completely, download it again and re-install it.

Uninstalling the Nexon Launcher will not impact games that have already been downloaded and installed.

  1. Open Windows Start Menu and click on Control Panel.
  2. Under Programs, select Uninstall a program.
  3. In the list of programs, select Nexon Launcher.
  4. Click the Uninstall button. This will open the Nexon Launcher Uninstall program.
  5. Follow prompts to uninstall the Nexon Launcher from your computer.

Once the Nexon Launcher has been uninstalled, download and install it again.

  1. Visit the download website: https://games.nexon.net/nexonlauncher
  2. Click Download Nexon Launcher and save the file to your computer.
  3. Navigate to the download folder.
  4. Open the NexonLauncherSetup application.
  5. Follow prompts to install the Nexon Launcher.

When installation is complete, open the Nexon Launcher. It may take several minutes to update, at which point you can log in to your account like normal.


Process (3): If you're still experiencing the infinite loading loop issue after trying the above steps, please follow the next steps below:

The Nexon Launcher uses 5 different 'TCP Ports' to run the application on the computer, and must run on these 5 TCP Ports simultaneously. If *another* program is running on one of these ports, there may be a conflict and the launcher will fail to run. In order to determine if this may be the case for you, please follow below:

  1. Open your Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc)
  2. Redirect through the following menus: Task Manager > "Performance" tab > Open Resource Monitor > "Network" tab > "Listening ports" section.
  3. Make sure your nexon_client.exe and nexon_runtime.exe applications are running on *ALL* of the following ports simultaneously:
    • 5311
    • 5577
    • 5575
    • 7000
    • 7001NexonLauncher_TCPPort.png
  4. If the Nexon Launcher is not running under *ALL 5* of the above listed ports, please check the Listening Ports section and identify the program that is using one or more of these ports. Then, end the process for the program(s).
    • You can end the process or end the process tree by locating the program on this same task manager page: Task Manager > "Performance" tab > Open Resource Monitor > "Network" tab > "Processes with Network Activity" tab on this page.
    • Right click the process and select "End Process" or "End Process Tree"
  5. End the Process for the Nexon Launcher.
  6. Re-open the Nexon Launcher and the launcher should run successfully as long as it is using all 5 of the previously listed TCP ports: 5311, 5577, 5575, 7000, and 7001.


If you are still experiencing an issue with the Nexon Launcher after performing these steps, please submit a ticket and provide us the following information:

  1. When creating your ticket, title it "[Nexon Launcher Issue - Logs]"
  2. Please include a screenshot of the error message you're receiving.
  3. Please provide a brief description of the issue you're experiencing.
  4. Locate your Nexon Launcher logs, commonly found here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Nexon\Nexon Launcher
  5. Attach the most recent files in this folder in your ticket reply as an attachment, including the following text documents (.txt):
    • nexon_launcher_debug
    • nexon_runtime_debug
    • nexon_updater_stderr
    • nexon_updater_stdout
    • nrt
    • nexon_updater_debug
